Hello everyone. Do you ever go to your favorite arts and crafts store to be disappointed not to find the type of stickers you are looking for? I’ve searched for a few stickers and couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for. So in the processs of using my crafty brain (LOL), I decided to make my own to suit my needs. It can be very cheap to make too and you can make as many as you want.
I went to my local dollar store and bought a roll of clear contact paper. Looked for pictures of what I actually wanted and traced them on to the oposite side of the clear contact paper then I cut them out and using some acrylic paints, painted my designs onto the right side of the paper. Once dry, I gave them a coat of polyacrlyic to give it a nice soft shine. You can let them dry overnight to make sure the paint has adhered before you poly them. Once you’ve given it that one coat of poly, you can also let them dry overnight to make sure they are completely dry. Once they are dry, you can place them anywhere you want. I’ve placed my on the walls and mirrors of my bathroom. Here are a few pictures. My theme is “Beach Decor”. Have fun making your own.

Hello everyone, first of all I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year. It’s been a few days since my last post and have not had a chance to write since the holidays. It’s been a busy few days.
I’d like to talk a little about potholders. We all use them in some shape or form, whether it be for holding pots or using them as coasters or even as hot plates. Some way or another they come in very useful. I remember my mom used to make them all the time and they did come in handy. I’ve made a few of them throughtout the past couple months. I usually make them when I have a little spare time on my hands. Above you will see one of my crochet potholders and handle mitt. Handle mitts are useful when you have pots with handles, just slip into the handle and there you go. I have made many sets with potholders and handle mitts in assorted colors. I enjoy doing these and they make a good pass time, especially when I’m catching a show or two on the tube.
Hope you’ve started your New Year great and continue do to so throughout. Until next time.

Don’t you just love those soft batch cookies and wish you can make them at home? I found this great recipe for chewy oatmeal cookies. It is great and it is by far my best recipe for soft batch chewy and I mean chewy oatmeal cookies. Here it is:
1 cup of butter or margarine, softened
1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/4 cups of all purpose flour
3 cups quick cook oats
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (you can add any nut or other ingredient)
1 cup raisins (optional) you can add any other ingredient
1. In a large bowl, cream together butter or margarine and sugars until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Blend in vanilla, cinnamon, salt, and baking soda.
2. Stir in flour, oats, nuts, raisins, and mix until just blended.
3. Drop by spoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
4. Bake at 325 degrees for 12 minutes. Cool cookies on a wire rack.
MAKES ABOUT 3 1/2 dozen.
This is the best recipe by far. The last ones I made I put chocolate morsels on top and they were just as delicious.
ENJOY!

Everyone loves the outdoors, right? There are so many things to do outdoors that we can go on and on listing them, but that would take up too much time. We want to get to the reason we really love the outdoors. My specific reason for loving the outdoors is because I get to decorate outside almost every month of the year.
September is coming to an end and soon we will be decorating for Haloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Gotta love it. The good thing about decorating in October for Haloween is that some of the decorations you use in October, you can keep around for Thanksgiving, like pumpkins, scarecrows, hay, corn and a few other things. You just need to add the turkeys, pilgrims and everything else Thanksgiving.
Now when it comes to December, there is just so much you can do to your outdoor decorating. And since New Years comes around soon after the Christmas holidays, you can even leave your decorations out after December. The other good thing about decorating for the next few months is that you can leave your decorations out for the entire month so you can enjoy them until it’s time to switch over. I myself like to decorate for the specific holiday at the beginning of the month, preferably the first of the month, this way you can enjoy your decoration.
Every month has a holiday and even if it doesn’t, find a reason to decorate the outside of your house or home. No holiday, decorate just for the sake of it and bring your festivities from the inside out.
